Types of hearing implants

There are several types of hearing implants available, each designed to address different types and levels of hearing loss. The right solution depends on factors such as the cause of your hearing loss, its severity, and how well you are currently hearing with hearing aids.

Cochlear Implants

Designed for people with moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss who receive limited benefit from hearing aids. Cochlear implants bypass damaged parts of the inner ear and directly stimulate the hearing nerve.

Bone Conduction Implants

These devices transmit sound through the bone of the skull directly to the inner ear, bypassing the outer and middle ear. They are often used for conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, or single-sided deafness.

Middle Ear Implants

Middle ear implants work by mechanically stimulating the structures of the middle ear. They are an option for people who cannot wear or do not benefit from traditional hearing aids.
